Supporters “Tour of the Bay” – Bookings Essential ($25) – see booking sheet.

There will be a supporters “Tour of the Bay” on the Friday. This will take participants to visit local attractions including lunch at a restaurant. Transport will be by Vintage Car or Art Deco Bus. Cost $25 per head for tour, and you pay for your own meals and incidentals. Tour departs Chemz Raceway at 9.30am Friday 17 March.

BOOKINGS AND ORDERS

To book “Tour of the Bay”, marquee sites, meals, or order Tee and Polo Shirts, use the attached order form. Please print this off and complete your requirements, then scan to pdf and email to the secretary ruskay342@yahoo.co.nz. Payments can be made direct to the bank account. Make sure you clearly identify your payment so the secretary can allocate it correctly.

Cafeteria and Bar Facilities, and Evening Meals:

  • The Kitchen will be operating during the weekend with breakfasts available Saturday and Sunday Mornings.
  • The Bar will be available after the track closes each day
  • Bookings are essential for the evening meals Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Saturday evening meal will include meats, salads and buns, with dessert slices and tea or coffee to follow. Please advise of any special dietary requirements.

Pit, Trailer and Motorhome Sites:

  • Motorhome parking available and trackside viewing / parking available.
  • An area has been set aside for motorhomes

Event Apparel

  • T-Shirts with printed event logos, and Polo shirts with embroidered event and Chemz logos will be available. Sizes and colours as on order form.
  • These must be pre-ordered using the order form attached, as they will not be available for general sale at the event.

Grand Auction

There will be an auction conducted on Friday afternoon after track closes which will feature the “Collector General” (Phil Davy’s) remaining karts and parts. Other entries are welcome and can be left for viewing in the Auction area on Friday afternoon. All entries must be tagged with the owner’s name and item details, and reserve price for complete karts, rolling chassis or motors. All other entries will be “no reserve”. The Auction is cash or cheque only at the fall of the hammer, and it is the seller’s responsibility to conclude the sale. VKNZ and KSHB take no responsibility for condition or security of any auction items.

New Zealand Vintage Kart Prix 2017

No Plastic, 100% Fun!

The Vintage Karting NZ is pleased to announce that the 2nd New Zealand Vintage Kart Grand Prix will be held at the Kartsport Hawke’s Bay facility on the 17th – 19th March 2017

A good old fashioned country kart meet with all activities at the track and clubrooms.

Demonstration classes for 60’s, 70’s, 80’s & early 90’s

Many different vintage karts will be there including:

  • A replica of the “first go kart” by Art Inglis/Lou Borelli. The 1973 Birel/Fullerton World Champs winner.
  • The 1972 Margay Cheetah Garry Emmick won the 30 and 50 lap events at the 72 Hong Kong GP.
  • The first “Low Wheeler” a 1961 Bug Scorpion imported into NZ in 1964. An early Go Kart 800 with twin 101 McCullochs.
  • One of the 3 karts Lake Speed sent to NZ to use in the International Series immediately after he won the World Champs.
  • A 1959 “High Wheeler” Villiers powered Kal Kart, which won the 200cc class at the first New Zealand Sprint Champs in 1960.

We have an active ladies committee looking at events and venues to keep our wife’s and partners entertained during the event i.e. Vintage Car Tour with luncheon at a winery restaurant.

We will be arranging discounted meals, refreshments, and motel accommodation with transport to and from the circuit.

There are shower and toilet facilities at the venue for those that may wish to use a Camper or RV and stay onsite.

There are beaches, sea and fresh water fishing opportunities and a water theme park all within 20kms of the circuit (surf beaches just 40kms away).

NB: All Kart Chassis must be a model produced before 31 December 1993 and all motors must be a model produced before 31 December 1990.

There will be no entry fee for participants from outside New Zealand.
