- These rules supersede all previous KSHB club championship rules
- To be considered an ‘eligible driver’ in respect to the club championships you must:
- Be a fully paid up member of Kartsport Hawke’s Bay throughout the club championship
- Have competed in a minimum of 4 rounds of the club championship
- Club championships will be held in the following classes:
- Cadet Rok
- Mini Rok
- Rotax Max Junior
- Clubsport 120
- Briggs
- Rotax Max Senior – Light
- Rotax Max Senior – Heavy
- Open
- There will be 2 club championships in each class:
- Sprint champion
- GP champion
- The club championships will be run over 6 rounds on the following club days in the nominated race direction:
- February – Anti clockwise
- March – Clockwise
- May – Anti clockwise
- July – Anti clockwise
- October – Anti clockwise
- November – Clockwise
- The senior classes will combine for their G.P. race but still compete for their individual class G.P. championship
- To become a ‘confirmed class’ and qualify for ‘trophies’ and a ‘club championship designation’ a class must have 3 eligible drivers at the conclusion of the 6 championship rounds
- Championship points for each round will be awarded by way of:
- Standard negative point system:
- 1 st place = 1 point
- 2 nd place = 2 points
- 3 rd place = 3 points
- Etc
- Non-participation in a round = field plus 5 points
- DQ = field plus 5 points
- Non KSHB members will be ignored in the points allocation for the purposes of the club championships
- Standard negative point system:
- Each eligible driver is allowed to drop their worst (highest points) round, this includes one non-participation round but not a DQ round.
- Each eligible driver will be allocated points in 5 rounds of the championship, this includes a maximum of 1 non – competition round for those eligible drivers who compete in 4 but not 5 rounds. In this case the 5th round points will be awarded based on the highest points from the two rounds missed.
- The eligible driver who has accumulated the lowest number of points over their best 5 rounds of the club championships will be the winner of each championship and be acknowledged as the ‘club champion’ in that class in either the sprint or G.P. championship. 2nd place will be the eligible driver who has the next lowest number of points etc though the field of eligible drivers
- Ties will be determined using KSNZ rules.
- Trophies for each confirmed class will go down to 3rd place. However, trophies for the Cadet Rok class will go down to 6th place.
- The race day format will be:
- Sprint championship (except November round):
- 5 heats
- 4 heats of predetermined grid draws
- 5 th heat grid to be based on results in the previous 4 heats
- Drop your worst heat
- Sprint championship November round only:
- CIK format
- Points awarded based on the Final only
- GP championship: Random grid draw
- The number of laps for sprint races are to be determined on the day, depending on class sizes and the time available.
- G.P. races will be the sprint race length plus 6 laps.
- Sprint championship (except November round):
- Club championship prize giving & the Xmas function will be held following the completion of the final round at the November club day.
